Tempero-Mandibular Disorders

One of the most complex joints in the body, the temporomandibular joints (TMJ), more commonly referred to as the “jaw joint”, anchor the lower jawbone to the skull and assist in the basic opening and closing movements of the jaw.

The disorder is used to describe a number of ailments associated with the TMJ’s. Although medical science has not yet isolated the cause of TMD, it has been associated with grinding and clenching of teeth, as a side effect of surgery, arthritis and psychological effects
